Brainfood Announces Launch of New Website Based on Advanced Open Source Tools

Brainfood is pleased to announce the re-launch of their corporate website (www.brainfood.com) using the Webslinger web templating engine, including Click2Build editing and Click2Buy eCommerce tools. These tools made it re-launching the new website much easier and quicker. It also allows Brainfood to incorporate eCommerce as an integral part of their website. Brainfood is able to offer these tools in solutions for their customers now.

Webslinger has been developed by developers at Brainfood to enhance OfBiz, an ERP solution from the Apache Software Foundation. Webslinger now represents a mature set of tools that can be used to build traditional websites faster and easier, with a much lower maintenance cost with zero licensing fees.

“Brainfood has had success increasing capability and reducing costs for several customers using the Webslinger engine,” according to Ean Schuessler, CTO at Brainfood and a leading proponent of the Open Source movement. “We could not have been this effective using proprietary development tools.”

The Click2Build tools removes the barrier between knowledge keepers in a company and the sharing and publishing of knowledge and information. Using a browser based editor and a powerful content manager, all employees in a company can take part in keeping a website up-to-date and relevant.

Click2Buy is a powerful eCommerce system that can be easily maintained and updated, yet has the power of an ERP system behind. Businesses using Click2Buy can start simply in eCommerce, yet still have room to grow.
